Lindsey Byrnes is an LA-based photographer and creative director. Driven by her passion for people and their stories, Byrnes’ audience is given a front row seat to the emotionally evocative and personal style that has put her at the forefront of pop culture.
She began shooting her peers in the California skate scene while working for Thrasher Magazine before foraying into music. She would go on to direct music videos, design album covers, and go on tour with acts like Paramore, fun., and Tegan & Sara. Lindsey was selected by the Recording Academy to be the first woman to capture the coveted winners’ portraits for the 64th Annual Grammy Awards in 2022.
From music, Lindsey began shooting editorial and advertising campaigns for publications and brands such as Rolling Stone, Jaguar, Chanel, Harper’s Bazaar, Marie Claire, and Elle.
Through the years, Lindsey has used her platform to promote LGBTQ rights and representation. She photographed Nylon magazine’s first Pride cover and multiple advertising campaigns for queer brands and charities including Amazon Prime’s Tampa Baes, The Logo Network, The Tegan & Sara Foundation, and Jack Antonoff’s Ally Coalition.
Led by this fascination of people and never willing to fit into any one box, Lindsey continues to capture and highlight a diverse set of stories.
